Willie B. Lanier

Willie Lanier, age 87, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, and dear friend to many.

Born in Jones, Alabama, and a longtime resident of Highland Falls, NY, Willie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. He was known for his warm smile, gentle demeanor, and unwavering generosity.

Willie worked as Head Sexton at Cadet Chapel in West Point for 35 years, and later as a custodial worker at Fort Montgomery and Highland Falls School District for over 15 years. He also dedicated 25 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Highland Falls Fire Department, earning the respect and admiration of all who served alongside him. Willie approached every responsibility with diligence, integrity, and humility, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A dedicated member of St. John Methodist Church, Willie lived out his faith through service and compassion. He found peace and joy in life’s simple moments, especially those spent with family and friends.

Willie will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Lucinda Lanier; his children, Samuel Lanier (Melissa) and LaQuanda Brown (John deceased); his grandchildren – Amanda Bashant, Kenton Brown, Cerrone Hemingway, Kaleb Brown, Christopher Lanier, Kevin Brown, Samantha Lanier, and Jordan Lanier; his great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and friends. He touched countless lives and will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit.
