In Loving Memory of Willie James Eady
Willie James Eady, age 72, passed away on July 23, 2024. James, as he was affectionately known, was born on August 21, 1951, to the late Victoria Strong and Johnny Lee Eady. After graduating from high school at age 18, he relocated to Peekskill, NY.
He first married Gwen with whom he had a daughter, Lynn. James was the parent of a daughter, Nicole Henry, from a previous relationship. Later he relocated to Poughkeepsie, where he met and married Sharon Dixon. In their 14 years together, they had their son Maurice and welcomed stepchildren Leon, Antonio, and Shuntell. James worked at James Taylor as a machinist for many years and owned his own business, “James and Sons” with Maurice and Leon.
His sisters survive James: Essie Eady, Uzira Eady, Evelyn Eady, Bevelyn Eady, Marsha Eady, Viola Eady (Blanchard), Alestine Eady; his brothers: Hope Eady, Johnny B. Eady, Namon Eady, Cecil Eady, and Gregory Eady; his children Lynn, Nicole, Maurice, Leon, Antonio, and Shuntell, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Emma Eady (Burton), and Sandra Eady (McKenzie), and brother Hosea Eady. James was known as having a great sense of humor and being someone, you could count on when in need. He will be remembered for his laughter, stories, generosity, and unwavering love for those he called family and friends
