Victoria Gertrude Mae Deans entered the world on June 5, 1950, in Newburgh, NY, and her final moments were spent at the Kaplan House in Newburgh, NY, surrounded by her family. Victoria entered eternal rest on June 24, 2025, after a battle against cancer. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and a light in every room she entered.
Vickie, as she was affectionately known, had an unforgettable personality, constantly leaving family and friends in laughter. She took pleasure in extending love and support to her family, always ensuring that everyone was taken care of. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, family, and an unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved and cherished her. We ask that you continue to remember Vickie not by the sadness of her transition, but by her everlasting love and support, and the joy that she brought into the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Victoria was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude Mae Deans and Austin Deans, her Aunt Bessy DuBois, and her sister Wanda Marie Bell. Vickie was survived by her three children, Denise Murphy, Tamekia Deans, and Douglas Lamb Jr., all of Newburgh, NY. Significant other, Charles Parker of Newburgh, NY. Sisters: Bertha Deans of Newburgh, NY, Maryanna Deans of Citrus Springs, Florida, and Lorraine Burnett of Chickasaw, Alabama. Eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Life-long close friends Cassandra Lawrence, Grace Clegg, Anna McDonald, Sue Lanier, and Joanne Gillespie.
Throughout Victoria’s life, she maintained several jobs in the Human Services/Transportation field and enjoyed retirement after years of dedication. She was a devoted member of the Sisters of Esther Chapter #177 in Newburgh, NY. Victoria had a beautiful, infectious energy that will truly be missed. Vickie loved music, quality time with family and friends, great movies, and creating memories with the ones she loved most.
