In Loving Memory of
Rosalie Ann James (Ms. Rose)
July 31, 1946- June 12, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rosalie Ann James, who passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at the age of 79, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Rosalie was born on July 31, 1946, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies, to the late Mazie Biggs and Hubert Foster. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of many.

She dedicated many years of service to The Pines (formerly Eden Park nursing home) and retired from Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She took pride in her work and was known for her caring nature and strong work ethic.

Rosalie found great joy in cooking, spending time with family, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She loved and enjoyed watching Family Feud. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her grandchildren.

She leaves behind her beloved children, Sheldon Stephenson and Lawrence Haslam; her cherished grandchildren, Shelice Stephenson, Shaylyn Stephenson, Sheldon Stephenson Jr., Alesia Haslam, Nicole Haslam, Kimoya Haslam, and Junior Haslam; eight great-grandchildren; her loving sisters, Nellie Johnson, Ruby Smith, Veronica Foster, Pearl Banton, Pansy Foster, Gretel Foster, Marcia Foster, Hilma Foster, and Henny Foster; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Sebert Foster.

Rosalie will be remembered for her smile, strength, independence, love, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and memories will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
