It is with deep sadness that the family of Pinkie Mae Lawrence-Smith announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 4:10 a.m. She was 82 years old.
Her children survive her. Betty Lawrence, Michael Lawrence Sr. (Lisa), Tina Lawrence, Anthony Lawrence Sr., Mark Lawrence (Diane), Linda Smith, Loretta Smith, James "Jamie" Smith, Paul Smith (Natasha), and Charles "Chuckie" Smith Jr. (Giselle), as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of honorary grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith Sr.; her parents, Lomax and Sadie Lawrence; her beloved bonus daughter, Tamasia Turner; her grandsons, Karim Barnes and Tyus Lawrence; her brother, Lomax "Smokie" Lawrence Jr.; and her sisters, Lillie Mae Jackson and Willie Mae "Wang" Downing.
Arrangements are entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home. The family asks for your prayers and kindness during this time.
