Mary Bell Fearon, 82, of Newburgh, NY, passed away on November 30, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Mary entered the world on June 19, 1943, in Whiteville, NC. Mary left NC in the early 60s, residing shortly in Norwalk, CT, and even shorter in the Bronx (she once shared those buildings were too tall for her) before settling down in Newburgh, where she resided up until her passing.
Mary worked for a brief time at Regal Bag and then moved on to West Point until she retired. Mary preferred the quiet life. She loved gardening, planting collard greens & tomatoes in her backyard, sewing, cooking, going to garage sales, and being with family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 54 yeas, Desmond G. Fearon of Newburgh, NY; three sons, Jerry McKoy of Meriden, CT, Michael Fearon of Newburgh, NY, and Linford Fearon of Davie, FL; three daughters, Mary McKoy-Jefferson (Joseph Jefferson) of Meriden, CT, Melrose Fearon of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Yolanda Fearon of Newburgh, NY; one surviving brother, Floyd (Bobby) George; as well as a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Luke and Corene McKoy, and eight siblings: Nathaniel McKoy, David McKoy, Daniel McKoy, Elnora Scott, Hannah Troy, Louise McKoy, Ruth Sanabria, and James McKoy.
