Every memory I have of my Uncle Rico is filled with him sharing how proud of me he was or how happy he was to see me. All I have are positive memories that I will forever hold on to. I am not sad at all, I'm grateful. I praise God for being able to share this life's journey with him and I am grateful he is at peace. Most importantly, I am happy he is reunited with Big Mama, my Nana, Aunt Mary, and Uncle J. I'm sure they rejoiced to see him. He will be missed.

I have multiple fond memories of my Uncle Rico and will share two within this reflection. My earliest memory of my uncle was from my adolescences when I would take summer trips to stay with my Uncle Charles and his wife Aunt Mariam. As these trips were in upstate NY time was also spent with my Uncle Rico. Spending time with my grandmother's brothers was a model of mentoring. A mentoring that has shaped and influenced who I am today. In addition to this memory, I reflect proudly on the opportunity our family had to visit Uncle Rico in the hospital a week prior to his passing. To sit, talk, remember family stories and laugh was the best way to say so long and I look forward to when we meet again. Thank you, Uncle Rico, for your gift of love and modeling of kindness. Fondly submitted, Shawn Maurice Mott

We were so blessed to have met Johnnie. He was a sweet, intelligent man who was the classiest man we ever met. I worked with Johnnie in the NYS Park Police whenever a dignitary or politician visited the park it was always officer Johnnie Mott who met them. Truly a positive and special soul. God bless Johnnie and Carmelita a truly beautiful couple. Denise &Jim Linderman
