Obituary For Heniya A. Fox

We will never understand,
We will never understand why you were chosen, such a vibrant soul, whose confidence radiates any room
entered. We will never forget June 5, 2021, when the
unfortunate situation transpired, the situation to led to
you never be the same as the situation that ultimately took you away from us….

HENIYA. FOX (“Niya”), a born leader, a sought-after
friend, the life of the room, the tell it like it is, the “I’m going to be somebody” – these are attributes of my dear niece. Niya was fierce in her confidence and boldness to defend what she believed and the people she loved.

She was opinionated and enjoyed having meaningful
conversations. If the thought was in her head, it came out of her mouth. Her motto in life was “I am going to be somebody”. Niya was a people person and was able to have conversations with anyone she encountered. She gave the best advice and when moved by the Spirit of God, she would often speak directly into your life without knowing your situation. When she was in your presence, there was never a dull moment.

Niya loved to dance. She enjoyed singing, even though that was not her strong gift. Most of all, Niya loved God and her family.

Niya, the beloved daughter of Stacy Coleman and Henry Fox, came into this world on October 8, 2009, at the St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh, New York. She attended Gidney Avenue Elementary School and graduated from Heritage Junior High School in New Windsor, New York.

Niya was very creative and enjoyed writing and science. She enjoyed going to church and was a member of the New Day Tabernacle in her younger years and the International Church of Christ in her later years. Niya transitioned from Earth to be with her heavenly father, on April 27, 2024. She will be greatly missed.
