Frank M. King, Age 90, of Highland Falls, NY, was called to his eternal heavenly home on February 12,
2025.
Born on December 6, 1934, in Montgomery, AL, to Carrie Squaire and Ezekiel King, Frank was raised in
Toledo, OH. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1954, serving as a Motor Transport Operator. He
was stationed at Ft. Eustis, VA, Metz, France, and the U.S. Army Military District in West Point, NY. Frank
proudly served for six years, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and being honorably discharged.
After his military service, Frank moved to Highland Falls, NY, in 1960, he later met and married Dorothy
L. Brown. They were blessed to spend 59 years together.
Frank worked in the Engineering Department at West Point, NY as an Engineer Equipment Operator,
retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, he continued his work as a
contractor for the West Point Motor Pool from 1990 to 2016.
Frank, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, cherished spending time with his
family. His devotion to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was a highlight of his life. Frank was a
longtime member of St. John’s A.M.E. Zion Church in Highland Falls, NY, where he served as the Trustee
Board for many years. He will be remembered for his warm personality, encouraging conversations, and
the deep love he shared with family and friends. Frank was generous with his time, always ready to help others, and loved discussing sports, and history, and sharing his witty sense of humor.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy; his children, Jose J. Gonzalez (wife Janet) of
Poughkeepsie, NY, Frank G. King of Long Island, NY, and Shirletta R. King of Nyack, NY; eight
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was
predeceased by his father, Ezekiel King; stepfather, Rosevelt Jones; mother, Carrie Jones; brothers,
Eddie Lee King, Willie D. King, and Rudolph Jones; and sisters, Kairltine Sanders and Phyllis Jones.
Though Frank’s physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who
knew and loved him.
