Emma Russ passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at home with her family by her side.
Emma was born on April 13, 1946, in North Carolina to the late Hattie Elizabeth Peterson and the late Vasco Henry.
Emma was employed by the State of New York for over 30 years. She loved her patients very much; taking care of them gave her much joy.
She leaves to cherish her memory are her 5 children; Louis Towles Jr., Mary Mallett, Eugene Towles, Willetha Russ and Katrina Beckford; one sister, Shirley Henry and brother, Vasco Henry Jr.; 3 sons-in-law, Barrington Mallett, Willford Beckford and Joel Bookal; daughter-in-law, Brenda Towles; sister-in-law, Cheryl Henry. Emma was blessed with more than 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Vasco and Elizabeth Henry; 4 brothers, Clarence Henry, Kermit Henry, Tyrone Henry and Crosby Henry; one sister, Elizabeth Faye Brooks; one niece, Shawanda Caldwell.
