OBITUARIES

Dorothy Perdue, of Newburgh, New York, passed away on August 2, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on January 15, 1946, Dorothy brought light and laughter to all who knew her. Daughter of Earnest Brown Sr. and Ruby Brown, Dorothy grew up in a loving home filled with joy and kindness. She found her life partner in Jesse Perdue (preceded in death) and
together they created a lifetime of memories.

Although Dorothy and Jesse did not have children of their own, they shared a deep love and companionship that was evident to all who knew them.

Dorothy leaves behind to cherish her memories; 4 sisters, Mary Boyd (Allen) of Columbus, OH, Ruth Easton of Annandale, VA, Brenda Brown of Newburgh, NY, and Carolyn Brown of Winston Salem, NC; 5 brothers, Earnest Brown Jr. of Rocky Point, NC, David Brown, Roy Brown, Sonny Brown, and Ted Brown all of Newburgh, NY; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, special friend Sherrie Tillman, and family that loved her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Brown; mother, Ruby Williams; 2 brothers, Larry Brown and Bernard Brown; one niece, Carol Dunbar a.k.a. Angie and one nephew, David Brown a.k.a. Dooda.

Dorothy dedicated many years of her life to her work at Letchworth Village, where she touched the hearts of those in her care. After 40 years of service as a Registered Nurse, she retired with a well-deserved sense of accomplishment.

Known for her infectious smile and uplifting spirit, Dorothy will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her
