Delcina Rose Fisher was born on October 22, 1967, to Larry D. Walker (Father) and Grace Delcina Fisher
(Clegg) & Alfonzo Clegg (Dad). She departed this earthly life on January 12, 2025.
She received Christ at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she sang in the Youth Choir and served on the Youth Usher Board. As an adult, she continued to serve on the Ladies' Usher Board and the Soup Kitchen Ministry.
Delcina became an active member of the Rhema Family Worship Center where she served on the Welcoming Committee. She loved her church and church family where she grew spiritually.
Delcina attended the City of Newburgh School District, graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in 1985. She was also a member of The International Free and Accepted Modern Mason Inc., Sister of Ester Chapter #177. She was a devoted supervisor at the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities Hudson Valley DDSO for over twenty years. Delcina also worked for Home Depot for over 27 years.
To know her was to love her. She was a force to be reckoned with but, had a heart of gold. You would
emphatically know what’s on her mind at the drop of a dime and hold nothing back. She was dazzling,
energetic, the life of every party, and owned every room she entered. Delcina was an inspiration to everyone she encountered. She had a nurturing and affectionate spirit that was felt everywhere she went. What stood out most was that she was a fashionista, shopaholic, fly as can be, and never was half-stepping. Delcina was a well-known pillar of our community , respected, and loved by many.
Delcina was predeceased in death by her paternal father Larry D. Walker, father Alfonzo Clegg, Aunt Fannette Fisher, Aunt Valerie Gibson, Uncle Leroy Bailey, brother Curtis McNeil, sisters Brenda Lee Clegg and Alondria Haughton, paternal grandparents Antwon and Ella Mae Walker, and maternal grandparents John Thomas and Beatrice Fisher.
To cherish Delcina's fond and loving memories, she leaves behind her loving and devoted mother, Grace
D.Fisher (Clegg). Her sisters Evelyn Fisher, S'Telle Dennis (Scott), Tatamika Walker, Carol Clegg, Sierra Forte, Hyndasha Roulhac (Jeffrey), Her brothers Larry Walker and Altroy Clegg. Her sons Jamar DeGroat and Demari Mckenzie. Long time partner Micheal Mckenzie. Two nieces Alize' Shelby and Zyaira Shelby. Cousin sister Lalillian West, Cousin sister Shaniqua Shorter(Raynard) Cousin sister Alayna Mitchell (Patrick), and Cousin brother John Fisher(Tanice). As well as, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, sisters/friends, cousins, god-children, and friends near and far.
We are grateful for Delcina Rose Fisher's life and for the love we shared with her. As we say our farewells, let us carry her memories in our hearts and live our lives in a way that honors her legacy.
