Crystal Nicole Rhodes was born on July 18, 1972, at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC, to Juan Green and Linda Corbin. On June 18, 2025, Crystal passed away peacefully at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Throughout her life, Crystal pursued many career paths, ultimately finding her long-term professional home at Shugoll Research. There, she served as Call Center Manager for over ten years, where her leadership, humor, and drive left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the workplace.
To know Crystal was to know that her family was everything. She personified joy everywhere she went and was the life of the party. She always enjoyed hosting a gathering or planning the next one to be attended. Her legendary mac and cheese was a staple at every cookout and house party, and her playlists—strictly upbeat, no slow jams allowed—kept her spirits high. Whether it was the sounds of classic Go-Go or the latest hip-hop hits, Crystal believed music was the answer to life’s hardest moments. Her motto was simple: no matter how dark the day, there’s always a reason to turn up the volume and celebrate life.
Crystal's greatest joy came from her family. She poured endless love and devotion into her children, and when they grew up, she seamlessly shifted that affection to her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Being a grandmother wasn’t just a title to her—it was a mission. She made sure every birthday and milestone was celebrated in Grand Crystal fashion, no matter the cost.
When she wasn’t planning road trips, throwing a party, or chasing down her kids, Crystal loved relaxing with her favorite crime and horror shows—including The Walking Dead, Supernatural, and others—often with a cold ginger ale in hand and whatever she pleased at that moment.
Crystal leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She is survived by her loving mother, Linda Corbin; her brother, Matthew Brock; her devoted children, Allante Rhodes, Diamante Green (Tajah), and Alantra Green (Anthony); and her beloved grandchildren: Nijarae Johnson, Trinity Green, and Diamond Green. She also leaves behind her furry grandson, Popcorn, along with a host of cherished family and friends.
Crystal was preceded in death by her son, James Linwood Rhodes, whom she now joins in eternal peace.
Though her light no longer shines here on Earth, Crystal's spirit lives on through every beat of the music, every family gathering, and every moment filled with joy and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
